Weasels on Easels Project Queues

These are the official Weasels on Easels project queues for all custom ordered items. Etsy orders for fursuit making parts and prints will not appear on this queue as they are fulfilled on weekend time. Queued work is created 2-3 main projects at a time 4 days a week and they are filled in the order of the queue with various small things being worked on in personal time and on Fridays. The first section shows items in progress and items on hold. The lower section shows the standing queue. Attempts to rush your artists or be moved forward on the queue is contract violation and will result in loss of contract and removal from the queue. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Work in Active Progress

The work in this section is currently in some stage of progress and updated 1-3 times a month. 2-3 main projects are made in each block at a time, 4 days a week. When all projects in this section are completed, the next batch is moved into place. I will be rotating over to 1-2 projects at a time.

Status – 75% (Percentages below may not average to the listed overall status as parts vary in size, complexity and contribution too the overall project.)

 

Sculpting/Molding: 70%

  • Headbase: Done
  • Primary Horns: 50% (Awaiting Step 2 Molding of 3 Step)

  • Feetpads: Done

 

Head: 55% Head has had nose, jawset, eyes installed. Head Harness has been Made. Horn mounts and design have been finalized. Inner padding installed. Crest and Secondary horns cast and ready. Primary horns currently in sculpting progress. Head awaiting horn sculpting/molding/casting for further progress.

Bodysuit: 70% Found error in padding pods, corrected. Padding pods 4/6 completed. Bodysuit has been assembled to three pieces. Ankles, neck and sleeves have all been hemmed and finished. Body pockets have been planned, material is obtained.

Wings: 10% Wings Have been planned, diagramed and are awaiting specific measurements.

Handpaws: 85%  Handpaws have been designed, patterned, cut and sewn. Claw cuticles have been installed, and claws are awaiting painting. Pawpads are sculpted, molded, cast and sewn in. Finger pads are in current progress. Cuffs need extended. Currently on hold until we can check alignment with body.

Tail: 0% Tail awaiting body assembly for proportionate measurements.

Feetpaws: [Primary: 40%] [Sock Paws: 15%] Feet have been designed, patterned, cut and partially assembled. Feet pads have been sculpted, molded and cast. Claws have been cast and are awaiting painting. Preliminary planning, and some parts have been cut for the sock paws.

Accessories: 5% Basic Planning done, in depth needed.

Badge: 10% -Rough Sketch

Other Notes:

Awaiting completion of padding for measurements and pattern day, at which point we will collectively plan for wings, zippers, tail, padding pockets, cooling core pockets and others.

Premades, Personal Projects and Studio Training

These are premades being made for cons or for the purpose of training the studio helpers to learn to make suits so they can help on the queue and to produce premades for cons and to cover studio expenses and provide client refunds. Occasionally I will add personal or ko-fi member requested projects to this list. For every head I make for a client, we will produce 1 or 2 premades. They are made in allotted time that is restricted for studio tasks.

08/18/23 – Paws assembled, ready to sew in pads, need electronics edited. Awaiting support from another maker.

Current Standing Costume Queue

This is the standing queue for fursuits, cosplay and general costumes on private contract. This queue is in order, and items in this queue will be moved to the upper section when started. The queue has a capped work load of projects and each suit is made in order, by hand, with only a few crafted at a time. Harassing, rushing, demanding a particular deadline or otherwise rude behavior is a contract violation and will result in loss of contract and removal from the queue.

”ATTENTION:

Ashaeda was badly injured in a shelving accident in on OCT 30th 2024. They are awaiting complex spinal neck surgery for spinal cord injury and shattered discs. The studio processes, tasks and training are being restructured to work around this delay. Text stating:

Events and Scheduling Information

Generally we have events one every other month or so, and up to monthly during con season. The events are an important part of Weasels on Easels business structure and help to support ongoing business needs, as well as provide healthy social enrichment to our cave artists. We try to vend 5-8 conventions a year.

Why do you participate in events with an active queue?

Vending events has been a main source of income and work for Weasels on Easels well before cosplay and fursuits were ever introduced as a part of our queue. Events bring in direct income from premade products, which allows us to keep the queue closed to focus on existing work and keep a good handle on business productivity. These events allow us to sell premade products made on scheduled time to offset costs of maintaining and running a business and in the long run reducing wait times. Vending makes up 90% of our resources and is necessary to finish our queue. 

I heard your retiring. What's up with that?

While it has been well known that Ashaeda is alter/disabled and has mobility concerns, Ashaeda’s spine has been deteriorating since the accident in 2019. Ashaeda will be getting one, possible multiple spinal surgeries to repair it. The business has been heavily restructured over the past several years, and Ashaeda’s shares their studio with Weasels n’ Bits Co-op members, Arctonyx and Ube who are helping during recovery. We are currently focused on completely emptying the queue and remaining self sufficient.

While all queued work is being completed, wait times are extraneous and we are not accepting regular custom work except for replacing slots that have been canceled and focusing any spare time on pre-made products with our Etsy shop. Due to this, slot availability is rare and extremely limited. When the all queued projects have been completely emptied we will likely drop to 1-2 commissions a year. At this time, we have not made a full decision, however large scale, high production will no longer be a focus for our group.

I wont be around at events and cant afford to commission you. Are there other ways I can support your work?
