Scratch Board Gallery

Scratch board surfaces are creating by taking a tile of white clay or a white substrate surface and coating it in black ink. You can then use a variety of implements from blades and steel wool to fiber glass rods and tattoo needles to carefully etch the surface, removing ink to create a black and white relief image. In some works, Watercolors, airbrush and ink can then be used to add color to the final work. I use Ampersand ScratchBords and Inks, Ph Martins Inks and liquid Watercolors, and Windsor and Newton Watercolors in my scratch board work.
